Classic Signature Bourbon/Scotch Glasses

These strikingly beautiful glasses are one of the most coveted items made in our studio in Skaneateles, NY. Each glass is truly an exquisite and unique creation from the hands of our designer and gaffer, Lorraine Austin. The thick bottom of clear glass gives them a reassuring heft, but the lip at the rim is elegantly thin, making them a pleasure to drink from. The body of the piece is adorned with a field of a silver-bearing glass that exhibits a rich variegated golden amber color that may show hints of green and blue, enhanced by a pattern of orange-brown trailing and eye-spot murrinnes that mysteriously float and swirl around the glass. The edge of the glass's lip is finished with a hand-applied trail of transparent blue glass that causes the characteristic "blue ghost" effect in the base of the piece: when the glass is lit from above, the "ghost" seems to dance about, appear and disappear as the glass is handled. The bottom of each glass displays our studio's signature snake emblem, pressed into the still-soft bottom when the finished glass has been cracked from the rod on which it was created.

At $110.00 each these may seem extravagant, but we've never heard any regrets from those who own one. Most who do, tell us they will use no other glass for their favorite spirits, nor allow anyone else to use it. We have also heard intimation of prenuptial agreements and inclusion in wills.

These pieces are individuals; made singly without molds, at the furnace by traditional off- hand glass working techniques. Size and color will vary slightly.
