Studio Assistants Needed

We are looking for anyone that may be interested in joining our hot shop crew as a studio assistant.This opportunity is ideal for someone who has some established interest in glassblowing & is seeking to further their knowledge and skills. Typically, our assistants work at least one day a week assisting our gaffer & other members of our shop crew in producing our handcrafted glass pieces. In exchange for their participation our assistants receive practice time at the furnace & training from Phil Austin, our own (ahem) Master Glassblower.To be considered for acceptance, one must be reliably available to work at least one day each week & have some basic knowledge of & interest in working with hot glass. You must not mind being hot & sweaty at times & be comfortable working around open-flame equipment.You should have some interest & enthusiasm for working with your hands, as well as be willing to dedicate time to practicing & improving your skills. Some knowledge of art & design is helpful. We will ask that you have a few of the basic hand tools of your own.

Ideally, you should live in relatively close proximity to our studio, have reliable transportation, & a job. This is not an employment situation.
